This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is called "all tied up" - you must use ribbon, string or twine on your project...I chose to use all three, cuz that is just what I like to do, but you don't have to...one will do...play along with us this week, won't you?

#38 - say cheese
This week's challenge at shopping our stash is to use your favorite colour in a card...after going through several of the cards I have made in the past and looking at the papers I tend to buy, I have three clear winners for favorite colours...I like pink. I like teal. I like orange....nearly everything I make has those three colours in it...separate or together...so this card would be a fair showing of my pink liking....play along with us, will you?

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest punch and dies...this one is done with some old hearts that I had, the scallop border is my first border punch ever purchased and on of my absolute favorites...I also used a square punch to do my flag....play along with us, will you?

#35 - cat and feather birthday
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something soft on your card....I chose to use a paper that is made out of material (the checkered stuff), some vintage lace and some feathers...though this card was kind of funny as originally all I had was the feathers and it looked so bland...I had this cat cut out sitting around and tried it out on top and thought it complimented the blah-ness well and glued it on...it didn't dawn on me until after I glued it that it woudl look like the cats ate the bird...fun irony...join in with us this week, won't you?

#33 - mr. pinstripe suit
This week's challenge at the Order of the Opus Gluei is to use black, white and one other colour on your project. This is a thank you card that I made for the girls' tap teacher...they are doing a jazzy little number called Mr. Pinstripe suit, and their costumes are actually made of the fabric that the curtain is done from....play along with us, will you?

#31 - love flower anniversary
This week is the third anniversary of Shopping our Stash and our request is to make an anniversary or birthday card to help celebrate...this card used up a bunch of pieces from a kit...as sample die cut and an old rub on that barely worked...not sure I am a true fan of it, but it used so many bits and pieces that were "leftovers" that I was glad to get it finished :) play along with us, will you?

#29 - you are my sunshine
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a card or project using an inspiration from song lyrics...I chose "you are my sunshine" - mostly because I wanted to mix 4 different die sets together to make one card and I had a stamp with they lyrics right on it....play along with us, won't you?

#28 - i am grateful
This weeks Challenge at Shopping our Stash is a photo inspiration challenge (see the photo below)....I loved the colours and the "scatter" of the buttons and thought this paper had the same type of scatter with the flowers on it...then added some buttons to my flowers to carry on the button theme...and of course the colours are similar and closer in real life than in this picture...play along with us, will you?

#26 - may day
This week's challenge at Shopping our stash is to use the may pole as your inspiration for a project. This can include the likes of maypole ribbons, twisted items, rainbows or something tall and skinny...I did the twisted, rainbow ribbon aspect for my challenge...the tree was a reject from a different project last week and all the ribbon pieces were scraps...so was the littlest piece of sparkly black paper that I was holding on to because you just can't throw sparkly paper away no matter how small the piece is because it is so darn expensive...get your colourful juices flowing and play along with us this week....

#24 - now that is eggciting
This week's challenge at the Order of the Opus Gluei is to do a project with eggs...seeing as how it is Easter and all...I don't give out Easter cards in general, so I tried to go another route with this challenge and hatch a baby egg instead....I thought this might make a cute expecting card for someone and I love the film strip idea....play along with us, won't you?

#23 - numbers
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is related to the time of year most of us have to deal with - Tax Time....the challenge is to use numbers on your project somewhere...I took this project literally as we have a 70th birthday party to go to in a couple of weeks...I also did a "number" of cards in this same design to have for some other occasions (using up scraps I found in the bottom of a project bag left over from 2004 or so....) but they are cut up and gone just like the Chatterbox company they came from :(

#22 - life is too short to match socks
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do paper piecing on your project...this is one of my most favorite techniques going and I use it quite frequently on my cards...soemtimes it is just more fun than colouring in a stamped image. This one is done in two steps as I made the toes and heels in the opposite cardstocks from each sock. This is also one of my favorite stamps (and reminds me of my girls who never EVER wear matched socks...ever)...play along with us, won't you?

#20 -faux mosaic tile
This week's challenge over at Shopping our Stash is to use a faux technique...I had all these different ideas in my head and when it came down to doing my project, I couldn't find my clear embossing powder...it is amazing how many faux techniques use clear embossing powder...so I had to move on and find a different project...I did a faux mosaic tile project...this is not one that I will do again any time too soon...it was messy and sticky and things didn't line up the way they were supposed to...anyhow, this is how it came out and it is all it will be....play along with us, won't you?
