#56 - butterflies

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use a butterfly on your project.  This butterfly is new to my stash...it showed up in my mailbox last week to be exact, however, everything else on this card is made from scraps and old embellishments.  I am not sure if you can tell in the picture, but the butterfly is actually 4 layers on top of each other, all inked the same and popped up with dimensionals.  Play along with us, will you?

#55 - Happy Mother's Day

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a Mother's Day project.  My mom's favourite styles are black and white or anything with teal, so I combined the two for her here.  And it goes without saying (well at least if my sister is around) that I am her favourite child - lol.  Play along with us, will you?

#54 - repurposed card

This week's challenge at Jingle Belles is to celebrate earth day by using something recycled or repurposed.  I found this Christmas card in my craft room when I was cleaning out a bucket. I was from 2002 and it wasn't even for me, it was for my mother-in-law from my mom's best friend.  Why I ended up with it is beyond me, so I chopped it up and made a card out of it (and I am going to give it to my mother-in-law for Christmas this year).  Not really happy with the way it turned out, but the secret joke of it will make it work out in my mind anyway.  LOL

#53 - mythical and magical

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something mythical and or magical on your project...dragons, fairies, unicorns, wizards, trolls, gnomes - you name it and it can go on your project...nothing is more magical in my mind than fairies in the moonlight, so that is what I chose to use...play along with us, will you?

#52 - yo dude!

This week's challenge at shopping our stash is to go masculine...anything masculine will do...I chose a motorcycle as that feels masculine to me....cuz I wouldn't be caught dead riding one...lol..play along with us, will you?

#50 & 51 an orange in your stocking

This week's challenge at the Jingle Belles is to use this photo as inspiration.  I was smitten by these colours for Christmas...they look so fresh and bright.  I made two attempts at the challenge...the first one based on the colours for the plaid under the tree with a little bit of nature.  The next one is more of the colours for the pillows with some tree action.  This was a fun challenge for sure.

#49 - headed to the beach

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use beach related items on your project...it is hard to think of the beach here as it is still freezing outside.  It's like spring forgot to make an appearance this year.  We are supposed to be in for another storm on the weekend and snow on Wednesday so we will have to see what is in store for us....but I will relax and not flip out in front of the fire to keep warm...play along with us, will you?

#47 and 48- black white and one other

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use black and white and only one other colour.  This is not a colour combo I use frequently, but I thought I would play with some teal sparkly embossing powder and these stamps...play along with us, will you?

#37-46 - no ink

The challenge this week at Shopping our Stash is to use no ink on your project.  This was a fun challenge for me as I realized I almost always use some sort of ink on my project. I decided I would go simplistic with these cards and cut up one sheet of paper that had all square sentiments on it and used coordinating papers to make 9 quick birthday cards. I blinged them up a little with some stickles and left them at that.  Play along, will you?

#36 - a vintage Christmas

This week's challenge at the Jingle Belles is my most feared and least skilled challenge...using vintage items to make a card...but it wouldn't be a challenge if it wasn't hard and I am always envious of Lauren's ability to make vintage magnificent...so I played along..I don't have much vintage in my stash, but I think I made it work.

#35 - Easter bunny

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is called here comes Peter cotton tail - you need to do something Easter related on your card - bunnies, chocolate eggs etc.  I chose this little cutie as he just called to be used...all papers were from the scrap bucket on my desk...play along will you?

#34 - sounds of Christmas

I played along with the Jingle Belles this week and their prompt is to sing a song of Christmas this week by using something musical on your card.  I had this music paper in my scrap bucket and thought it would be perfect for this card.  Everything on this card is from scraps as I am determined to use up the bucket this year.

#32 - 33 put a bird on it

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to put a bird on it...I got these hipster birds a while back and thought I would crack them out and introduce them to some ink.  I used a stencil on the first one and the second is just a bonus using the scraps from the shaker card and background, so it's a twofer.  Play along with is, will you?

#31- fashion statement

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use a dress on your project...I am not sure if this counts - I think a Kimono is like a dress?? but I had these stickers that have been sitting in my stash for years and I wanted to get them used up.  Play along with us, will you?

#29-30 - itty bitty Christmas

I played along with the Jingle Belles this week and they are focusing on an itty bitty Christmas...using inchie and twinchies...I decided to combine the two and did inchie on one side and twinchie on the other...I thought they turned out kind of cute, especially because all the pieces were in my scrap bucket...

#28 - who0's birthday is it?

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use stencils...you can use them however you like...glitter, bling, paste, tracing or ink...whatever comes to mind.  I used this polkadot stencil that I have had forever and not taken out of the package until today...I used four colours of oxide inks that blend so fabulously that the stencil didn't move and you can't even tell where one colour starts and one ends.  Play along with us, will you?

#27 - home sweet home

 This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is home sweet home - make a project with a house or home on it...mine could be called gnome sweet gnome...I just had to use this little mushroom house with the gnomes on it when I saw the challenge...play along with us, will you?

#15 - You stamped with what???

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something unusual to stamp with.  I used a piece of chipboard that I had embossed which was a remnant from another project I had done and was sitting on the top of my trash can....I inked it up with oxide inks and thought it made a pretty cool background...play along with us, will you?

#16-26 - A colouring we will go

I decided to join in this week's challenge at the Jingle Belles...this time to use colouring in their challenge.  I have been loving this card design lately and blasted out 10 Christmas cards with it...I have also done get well and birthday (with wedding and sympathy being worked on this week)...it is so simple yet effective and easily uses up all my scraps of paper that are pretty but small and I just can't throw out.

#13 & 14 - getting sporty

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to get sporty. The olympics are on their way and we are asking you to use something sports related on your project...doesn't have to be olympic...any sport will do, just get into the sporty spirit.  Play along with us, will you?
