I am just starting to get in to the mini slimline trend but have been making regular slimline cards since the beginning of time...that is where I actually started out with my card making...funny how everything comes full circle, isn't it? This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "the power of pastels" and I am not going to lie. This is my least favourite colour palette to work in of all time. Pastels make my skin crawl. I have no idea why but I do not like creating with pastel. But today I went out of my comfort zone and I did it...with almost every pastel in the rainbow. Play along with us, will you?

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is weather related - or being under the weather. You can use any weather related theme or get well soon cards. I did a bit of both with these cards. The nice sunshine and rainbows makes me have some hope that spring will be here soon. Hopefully we can be done with snow and ice soon enough. Play along with us, will you?
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something with wings on your project to show that spring is on it's way. We don't have many signs of spring here other than some sunshine. We have tons of snow here still and we are still going down to -26 C at night. This has been the longest winter in years so it is great to have a feeling of spring inside. This month's challenge at A Tiny Craft is to make your ATC cards using a masculine theme. I went for dark and metallic with woodgrain paper. I don't think I get more masculine looking than that. Play along with us, will you?

Playing along with the Jingle Belles this week with their stencil challenge. This card was fun to make. I used a Simon Says Stamps stencil that is 4 layers to make this card. I am really loving the layering stencils. I am glad I got this one done...there was so much gluing lol.
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is called "Full Metal Jacket" - and as the name implies you are to use metallic features on your card or project. I chose to use gold foiling for the sentiment, three colours of metallic embossing powder on the main part of the card and metallic gold foil paper for the base framing. I tried to keep it clean and simple to focus on the embossing, but I am still contemplating putting a large gold heart in the middle. What do you think? Clean and simple is not my strong suit and I always like to add more, so this card feels unfinished without something in the middle to me...play along, will you?
I played along with the Jingle Belles this week for their "Stockings were hung" inspiration picture challenge. I chose to do mini slimline cards to mimic the size of the picture. I used paper with stockings and the colours that were in the photo and tried to get the pine bough in there as well. Loving participating in this challenge. Hopefully I did the challenge proud lol.
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "you deserve a hand" - feature a hand of some sort or congratulations on a card. I chose the hand and figured what better week to do a valentines card than this week. I kept it clean and simple and tried to keep it along a masculine feel. Play along with us, will you?
This month's challenge at A Tiny Card is NBUS - never before used stuff - I have all of these Colorado Crafts stamps that I bought at black Friday and finally have got some ink on them. I also used some new blending brushes and a new blue ink colour for the clouds. I will be giving these cuties to our local breakfast program. Play along with us, will you?
Playing along with the Jingle Belles true love challenge and I may have gone a bit overboard...I did hearts and all of the 12 days of Christmas so that I came out with 12 matchy matchy cards to use this year. What a fun and productive challenge.
