This weeks challenge at the Opus Gluei is called "Where did you get your suntan??"...you can take it as literal as you like, but show something to do with the summer sun...I chose the desert...dry heat is way better than humidity...in my opinion...we have had the most hot and humid couple of weeks here and it feels stifling for sure...I inked the background of this card with Tim Holtz distress inks and sprayed it with magic potion #9 to try and blend it in a bit, the Copic paper didn't like it too much and started going fuzzy, but it gave it a velvety texture once it was dry...I masked the image first before doing the background and then coloured it with copic markers...kind of a fun experiment with the inks and different types of papers...come on out and show us what you do in the heat...

ok, lemme first say that ♥I LOVE THIS♥ in every respect: it is GORGEOUS, and technique-impressive, AND funny as heck to boot!
& now here is my shocking true confession: when i saw the card & read "summer sun" i thought you were making a reeeeealllllly funny & rather pointed joke about all the ppl who have those horrible spray-tans and wind up lookin' a bit... ahem... well, you know... the color between red and yellow on the color wheel??!?!?!?! :) :) :) :) :)

Don't you just love when an experiment seems to be going south and then turns out beautifully? Doesn't happen often with mine but this is cool looking, it does have a velvety appearance.
This card really makes me chuckle, it's cheeky but lighthearted and would be a great one amongst friends. It has felt like the desert in my neck of the woods with this heat. Whew!
