#66 - slimline cards

 This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is one of my favourite trends (and one that I have been doing way before it became popular).  I have been making slimline cards for at least 20 years....that's right, you heard me correctly - 20 years.  They are the first card style I started with and they have never really ended with me.  Now that they are super popular, I have been able to find some dies that go along with the style, so that makes it a little more fun.  Play along with us, will you?

#65 - getting messy

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to get messy.  Use inks or paints or gels or whatever is messy and out of your comfort zone.  I chose to to use multiple inks with a stencil and then use sparkle spray over top of the whole card - as well as some embossing powder.  Play along with us, will you?

#64 - colour challenge

 This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use at least three of the listed colours on the palette.  I chose to use several of them in my gnome card.  I also added in a teal that is a bit darker than the shade in the palette, mostly because the colours were not accurate on my phone...ooops.  Play along with us, will you?

#59-63 - pile it on

 This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to pile on the layers and the embellishments.  I made these cards from several scraps of paper that had a bit of water damage on one end but that I couldn't bring myself to ditch because they were from a card kit that I had paid for.  I chopped off the damaged parts and made these cards with the remainders.  Play along with us, will you?

#57-58 - kiss cards (keep it simple sister)

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to keep it simple and do a clean and simple or one layered card.  I chose to do a cute little snoopy card with a die cut of the snoopster.  Play along with us, will you?

#56 - it's black and white

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use black and white on your project.  I chose to do a cover related theme that may only be understood by Canadians lol - our Prime Minister said this lovely phrase in an address to the country at the beginning of the pandemic.  Enjoy lol and play along with us, will you?

#31-55 Christmas in July

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash Christmas in July - we are to do a Christmas or holiday project.  It's never too early to make Christmas cards so here goes:

#31 - you're so sweet

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something sweet for your project.  It can be a sweet item like cakes or cookies.  Or a sweet something like a baby or a love.  Your choice.  Play along with us will you?

#28-30 UFO

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is a UFO challenge - Unfinished Objects.  Normally this is a challenge that is right up my alley as I often have several projects on the go or abandon ideas that aren't going well.  Since I have just moved into my new crafting area in the last few months, I didn't really have any unfinished projects sitting around.  I did however make several of these converse runner type shoes when I made my niece her birthday card, so I put them into some cards.  Play along with us, will you?

#27 - stuck on you

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use stickers on your project.  I went all out on this card and sacrificed the last of these cork stickers that I have been hoarding for no apparent reason.  The sequins are also stickers and so is the sentiment label....3 different kinds on one project.  Play along with us, will you?

#24-26 - around the world

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is all about travel - you can use maps, vacation spots, landmarks or any place that gets your travel juices flowing.  This challenge ironically coincides with my cancelled trip to Las Vegas (due to Covid -19) - so I will just have to travel the globe on paper lol.  I am not sure when my next trip will be after this pandemic - or if I will even want to travel any more - with the after effects of the virus fall out.  Only time will tell.  Play along with us, will you?

#23 - happy mother's day

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a Mother's Day project.  I whipped up this fairy card for my mom - she loves them. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a flower planter for her gift - the green houses here are just opening up and have been designated an essential service for covid-19 by our local government. #19-22 - rainbows and sunshine

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do something spring related - or easter or passover.  I figured because spring has not really arrived here yet that I would do a traditional April showers bring pretty May flowers type request of rain and rainbows...we are still having snow quite frequently here so I was hoping to egg it along with these fun rainbow cards.  Play along with us, will you? 

#18 - under the sun

This week's challenge at shopping our stash is to use a sun, a moon or stars on your project...I chose the sun because I think we all need some sunshiny happiness in our lives right now (and we have finally had some sun here and some of the snow has just started to melt.  It has felt like a really long winter here - it started on October 3rd and never let up until this weekend.  However we are in for 20-40 cms of snow for April fool's day and that is no joke).  Play along with us, will you?

#13- 17 happy birthday

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is pretty self explanatory - make a birthday card.  I took advantage of the super birthday theme and whipped up five fun super hero cards.  With all the virus talk and social distancing I plan to make tons of cards over the next couple of weeks.  Play along with us, will you?

9-12 Is it summer yet?

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do a project with a summer flair.  I can't wait for summer as the winter here is soooo long.  This year hasn't actually been too bad or super cold, but winter started here at the end of September and will still go for at least another 2 months.  Beachy goodness (if only in stamps) always feels warm and summery to me.  Play along, will you?

#7-8 - the great outdoors

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to celebrate the great outdoors with a nature themed project.  I thought this backdrop was a perfect tribute to all of the recovery from the fires going on in Australia so I felt it would work great for this weeks project...play along, will you ?

#6 - my heart is on fire

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "my heart is on fire" - use hearts or red or fire on your project.  I made these little guys in the snow and they are all wobblers...they are so much fun and make my heart melt...plus the glitter just makes it feel like they are covered in the sparkly snow of a nice and mild winter day....please play along with us, will you?

#3-5 Winter blues

This week at Shopping our Stash it is time to beat the winter blues by using up some of your blue supplies....my winter blues are a happy kind of blues.  I am waiting for my counter tops in my craft room to be installed and I am trying to be patient but it is too exciting.  They should be here in about 10 more days, so hopefully in time for our next challenge....in the meantime, here are a few cards I whipped up with a bit of a new year's flare...play along with us, will you?

#1 & 2 - Gnome Sweet Gnome

Happy new year one and all....this week at Shopping our Stash we are bringing out our Gnomies to start the new year fresh...my whole Christmas was gnome based this year...we did gnome decorations, gnome trees (three of them) and I even ordered gnome cookies to put on our Christmas dainty platters.  So, this challenge it totally in my wheelhouse....I made several gnome Christmas cards this year as well and some for next year!  Play along with us, will you?
