#59 - Trick or treat
This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to make something with Ghosts and Goblins, Spiders and Witches and everything Hallowe'en...Time is flying by so fast that I can't even believe Hallowe'en is just around the corner! I am making these little take out boxes for all the trick-or-treaters in the neighbourhood...I have about 198 more to go, but they will have to wait a bit to get finished...these two are just the prototypes...and then to fill them all up with candy...mmmm.

#57 - stampy technique
This weeks challenge at shopping our stash is to use a favorite stamping technique...I thought I would use a new one as the other team members already did the emboss resist and the colouring and of course those are my favorites...so a new attemp was had. I did a double stamp technique that is supposed to make the butterfly look like it has motion...to me it just looks blurry like you should be looking at it with 3-d glasses but forgot to put them on...oh well...I also did an inked background with a mask to try and get in the inking part of it...on a less blurry note, our basement now has carpet and we put in my countertops in the craft room yesterday...just some patching and repainting of some chips putting them in and it is all mine...this card was the first project done in my new crafty lounge (while watching tv...yup...even have cable in my room...) pictures coming soon...

This weeks' challenge at the Opus Gluei is to use something to do with a cityscape or your home town...I finally got a chance to put this cityscape die to some paper and love the scrap of starry night I had a chance to use for the background....after this challenge I will finally get to start creating in my brand spanking new craft room and I am sooooooooooooooo excited....I can't wait!
Pictures will be coming as soon as the silicone for the counter tops is dry and the dust is wiped up!!

#55 - back to school
This weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use office supplies or a back to school theme....I opted to try a bit of both...added some tags and paper clips and did a fun school tag too...my oldest heads off to her first day of high school...kind of bitter sweet day...she is excited though, so that is always a good thing...can't believe grade 9 is high school already...yikes!

#54 - for the boys
This weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash is "for the boys"...I always have such a hard time with boyish cards and they always stump me...This one is a quickie with a new set that I couldn't resist at one of our LSS that was 80% off...so I figured if I bought it, I had better well use it at least once before putting it away ;)...come out an play with us, won't you? |

#53 - old school
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest hardware you have hanging around. I still don't have access to most of my embellishments (this week though...wahoozle)...but I found these ones in a kit I had made for myself about lets say ten years ago...sooo not my best work...I am not really liking anything about this card, but everything on it is so oldschool that that could be why I don't like it...coloured the clear plastic pieces with my copic markers...the flower is at least 10 years old and the slide plate underneath is one of the first things I ever purchased...still not sure why, but I have tons of them in a variety of colours...

#50 - confetti card
This weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use the oldest punches you have laying around. I am super excited because I got to start putting some stuff into my new cupboards yesterday! Wahoo...and one of the boxes I could reach to get into happened to be my box of punches (which also landed on my head as I was trying to take it off of the pile stacked to the ceiling in my basement....thought I was going to end up in the emergency room, but walked it off with some aleve and a hot bath...whew it was a close one...note to self...***ask for help when the boxes are heavier than you and stacked two feet above your head...and check if there is stuff on top of them before pulling them down on yourself***...made the confetti with my super old mini punches that I bought when I first started doing scrapbook pages and have never really used since...should really purge those babies...join in with us this week, won't you? |

#49 - don't be such a beach!
This weeks challenge at the Order of the Opus Gluei is called don't be such a beach and the idea is to use up your beachy looking supplies...beach stamps, sand, shell fish, what ever you have going on to look hot and summery...I used the beach babes, because if they aren't summery, nothing is...however when I woke up today it was only +8 celcius outside, so there will be no beach around here today...but the warmth is supposed to return this week, so we can only hope...play along this week, won't you?

#48 - never stop dancing
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something that you have to keep buying even though you have a ton of that thing already...I mixed my three favorite vices in with this card...#1 - stamps....I must have 10,000 stamps in my collection...and that is not an exaggeration (but to be honest, I haven't counted - something I may have to think of as I start filling my craft cupboards in a couple of weeks)...the next is paper...I have so much paper that I would not ever be able to use it up in a lifetime...plus I still save scraps...why?? because it is a sickness, that is why....my new policy is going to be no scrap saving...must use it or lose it....and the third is washi tape...I always buy it...and never ever ever use it cuz it is too pretty...that is also stopping as of this card...must use all of those precious little rolls up...copics as well are a must buy item...but I have been really good at resisting new purchases of those....so what is your weakness?
***as an update though, my room is coming along splendidly...counter top template went in yesterday and it should be 2 weeks for that to get here and by then the floor should be done and in...and maybe even the ceiling (but I think that might be pushing it a little)...***
this is a pre sneak peak as to how it might end up in two weeks or so....giddy with excitement as it gets closer to the time....then just to pull out all the boxes and get organizing...that is a chore unto itself for sure!!!

#47 - The strangest thing
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use up the weirdest supply that you have purchased for a project and then never used....I have sooo much of that kind of stuff (most of it is still packed away in the now painted but no cupboards, floor or ceiling craft lounge)...so I searched until I found something elsewhere in the house that was intended for a craft project (not really a hard search though, this stuff seems to multiply)...I found some cork coasters from the dollar store to use...kind of a basic card (can't wait to get my bigshot out of the storage boxes- shouldn't have packed that baby and am really regretting it now)...play along with us, won't you?

This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to pin it, spin it and win it...using something from Pinterest to tempt you, make a project that is inspired by someone els...this card also gets the "pin" it from the pinwheel, the "spin" it as a spinner card and win it cuz it is just fun...thanks for the idea and template goes out to my friend Cheryl....join us, won't you?

#43 - bundle of joy
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest embellishments....okay, so these are the oldest embellishments around in the history of my embellishment purchases (I think)...they were bought for a baby card more than 12 years ago and had never been used until today....plain, simple and to the point (plus the only really old things I have unpacked - they were in the bottom pouch of my rollie tote and I never knew they were there)...pull out your oldest stuff and join us, won't you? |

#42 - geometry rules
| Deena |
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use geometric patterns...I am totally addicted to using hexagons right now, but several design team members also had the same idea, so I switched it up a little...I thought I would go all geometry on you and use a bunch of parallelograms...yeah, that's right, I said it....geometry rules ;) Come and play with us, won't you?
