#49 - chippy flip card
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use or make your own chipboard on your project. This flower chip board is one of the first chipboard embellishements that I ever purchased...and it finally has a home. I am trying hard to use up all my bits and pieces and it is a challenge in itself, but one I am diligently working on...play along this week, will you?

#48 - doing it old school
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do it old school...use tools or techniques that you did when you first started out...this card uses my first piece of "stencil" circle mesh ribbon that I started to use when I made my first card..I found it in a scrap box of decorating supplies at a local church basement when I went to my first "crop" - just a bunch of ladies gossiping and starting out with no supplies...the twine is also one of the first that I had purchased...this card is as old school as it gets in my supplies :) Join in with us this week, won't you?

#47 - danse nocturne thanks
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use wet medium on your project...this card was made as a thank-you to the jazz teacher for the girl's Danse Nocturne creepy clown routine....I tried to mimic the costume design for her card to customize it slightly...I used embossing ink and ultra thick embossing powder to make the centre medallion after spraying it with copper ink and then cracked it to make it look old...filled in the cracks with watered down black paint and sprayed the orange sanded diamonds with copper spray tomake it look a little more like their costume colour and a little less halloweeny...play along with us, will you?

#46 - triple threat
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is triple threat - you must use at least three of the following items:
ribbon, flowers, lace, pearls, spray/mist, punch/diecut, rhinestones, doilies, and/or dry embossing/scoring. Or you can use three of one embellishment if the other is too much for you to handle...I used the flowers, riboon, die cut and black pearls for my card...play along with us, won't you?

#45 -you said what?
This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to use an unforgettable book for an inspiration - This monster totally reminds me of the drawings from "Where the Wild Things are".....by Maurice Sendak...I know the colourings etc aren't quite there, but the resemblance is my inspiration anyway...play along with us, won't you?

#44 - holy shitake
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "5 a day" - a fruits and veggie challenge...well I know that a mushroom is not technically a fruit or a veggie, if you ask my kids they are just as bad as vegetables, so I went with it....(and you can buy them in the fruit and veggie section of the grocery store....but then again at our you can buy tofurky there too and that is supposed to be a meat???). Join in with us this week, will you?

#43 - something I can't put down
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "something I can't put down"...lately I have been super into paper piecing and die cuts...I don't know what it is about putting a stamp on something with a pattern and die cutting it or fussy cutting it, but I am in 100%...something so much fun and relaxing about it...play along with us, will you?

#42 - pinwheel birthday
picnics, sunshine and summertime is the theme for this week's challenge over at the Opus Gluei...and nothing screams summertime than a cool pinwheel to me! This paper kind of reminds me of a picnic tablecloth too, so it adds to the summery goodness...play along with us, will you?

#40 - Happy Canada day!
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your country's flag colours to make a project...Canada is a good, solid red and white...and this card is ever fitting for where I live right now...the mosquitos are in abundance as we have had nothing but rain since the snow melted in the end of May...it is shaping up to be a miserable summer here, but it is supposed to be El Nino this year for the winter, so one can hope it will be a mild one up coming...seeing as how we just got over the longest and coldest winter on record, here's to hoping that is true...play along with us, will you?

#38 - say cheese
This week's challenge at shopping our stash is to use your favorite colour in a card...after going through several of the cards I have made in the past and looking at the papers I tend to buy, I have three clear winners for favorite colours...I like pink. I like teal. I like orange....nearly everything I make has those three colours in it...separate or together...so this card would be a fair showing of my pink liking....play along with us, will you?

#35 - cat and feather birthday
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something soft on your card....I chose to use a paper that is made out of material (the checkered stuff), some vintage lace and some feathers...though this card was kind of funny as originally all I had was the feathers and it looked so bland...I had this cat cut out sitting around and tried it out on top and thought it complimented the blah-ness well and glued it on...it didn't dawn on me until after I glued it that it woudl look like the cats ate the bird...fun irony...join in with us this week, won't you?

#33 - mr. pinstripe suit
This week's challenge at the Order of the Opus Gluei is to use black, white and one other colour on your project. This is a thank you card that I made for the girls' tap teacher...they are doing a jazzy little number called Mr. Pinstripe suit, and their costumes are actually made of the fabric that the curtain is done from....play along with us, will you?

#31 - love flower anniversary
This week is the third anniversary of Shopping our Stash and our request is to make an anniversary or birthday card to help celebrate...this card used up a bunch of pieces from a kit...as sample die cut and an old rub on that barely worked...not sure I am a true fan of it, but it used so many bits and pieces that were "leftovers" that I was glad to get it finished :) play along with us, will you?
