Project 365 #20 - perm cards

I made these cards for a couple of girls from work. I finally (after 13 years) got a permanent job with my employer. That has certainly been an uphill battle for me. Three of us who got it are going for lunch on Thursday to celebrate, so I whipped the other two girls joining me up congratulations cards. The outside says "You got a new hairdo? Really, you don't say??" and on the inside it says "But a PERM is so '80's! Congratulations" (and there is a little curly haired poodle inside). I did these with the copic markers that I love so...they are so much fun to play with.

Project 365 # 19 - Morgan's birthday party tags

Amy asked if I could make some Halloween looking name tags for my niece's party next weekend, so this is what I came up with...some ghosts and goblins, pumpkins and bats. She also needed some pumpkins for a trick or treat game. I made 62 of them for the party. The name tags are out of the super sparkly paper I got on the cheapest sale ever at Zellers.

Project 365 #18 - Peanut butter cup indulgence card for Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday #41

This is my take on the Shirley's 2 Girls twisted Thursday Challenge. You can play along here: http://www.s2gpapercraftingcontest.blogspot.com/ if you want to join in. It is a sketch challenge with a twist. This week's twist is to add chocolate in some form and this is what I came up with. The phrase reads: Thank you for being the peanut butter in my cup. Thanks for looking...it's still not too late to join in the Project 365 fun...

Project 365 #17 - Birthday card

This is the card that I made for Lauren's friend Katrina. Her party is this weekend and Lauren thought she might like this one. I cut the flowers out on the Cricut. This was an experiment that I thought went well. I also did the cupcake with my Basic Grey stamp set and coloured it with Copic markers.

Project 365 #16 - Friend card from my Stampin up Party

This was definitely a scrapbook supplies party weekend! I had a Stampin' Up Party last night. Thanks Cheryl for doing the demos! It was a lot of fun and you can never complain about a night when you can pig out on at least three dips and dessert! A party is always a good excuse for that kind of behaviour! This was the project that everyone got to do. It was cool to get to use the new punch that we got to earn for free at the party...had to buy stuff just to get that one...look for it in future projects coming up. We are supposed to have a blizzard here tonight, so I hope tomorrow is a cruel "Snow Day"and I can stay home to scrap (and do laundry)...ohhh to dream...like that will happen...the plows will be out and I will have to continue to go to work and answer the phones...woe is me ;p

Project 365 # 15 - Close to my Heart party project

Laura invited me to her Close to my Heart party this weekend and this is my version of the project that we completed while we were there. I thought that the colours complimented the pictures that my sister had just given me of my nieces, and I had wanted to do a page with them anyway...so voila! It is complete. Thanks for the fun Laura!

project 365 #2 - Em's Guitar page

Guess I didn't win on the page challenge, cuz I never heard anything back, so here is the page I made for Emily and her Christmas guitar. Not colours I would normally use, but it was an experiment. She likes it and that is what mattered for this one. I used her guitar pick and put an "E" on it in some bling. Now she wants all of them to look like that for her...no surprise there, that girl and her shiny objects!

project 365 #14 - box of chocolates - S2G indulgence card #40

I made this card for the indulgence challenge over at Shirley's 2 Girls...I love their challenges...and they always have a twist. Today's challenge is for something indulgent...and what is more indulgent than chocolate...hmm...maybe paper and bling? Anyway this card has all three, so there...all indulgences covered! I stamped the chocolates from a gel-a-tins set, covered them in stickles and put them in little petit four wrappers. The card even smells like chocolate...I cut the heart out on the cricut and made a scalloped edge for a box with a punch and some left over paper. The phrase reads : Man can not live on chocolate alone. But a woman can! Of course who ever wrote this has never met my husband...he could exist soley on coffee and chocolate, and many days he does. I did this second picture so you could see how 3-D it truly looks. You can find the challenge here: http://www.s2gpapercraftingcontest.blogspot.com/ and they are having a blog hop as well. Join in the fun!
Thanks for looking.

Project 365 #13 - the Wicked Stepsisters - Creative Scrappers #86

I did this page for the second half of my Evil and Wicked page. I saw the challenge for Creative Scrappers and their sketch just called out for the second half of this layout. You can see their challenge here: http://www.creativescrappers.blogspot.com/ . Here is the other half is anyone is interested...did that one before this project (the colours are really close to the same, but look much lighter in the first pic...they are truly the colours of the second one!): Glad that challenge came out cuz this picture looked super lonely in the album without a match. One more event from Disneyworld documented and finished. Plus I just thought that these pictures were so awesome. We were the first people to visit with the evil stepsisters and the wicked stepmother that morning and they spent tons of time with the girls. They made the day for them. Up until this character photo, we hadn't had much luck with any of the characters...man they take lots of breaks..of course if that was my job, I would take lots too!

Project 365 #12 - Valentine's for the Girls' classes -S2GSC39

I made these super cute little boxes for the Girls' classes at school for Valentine's day. They are filled with conversation hearts, cinnamon hearts and different kinds of Hershey's kisses. The girls think that they are absolutely adorable. We worked on them last night and all day today. The paper is super cool. Most of it was American Crafts (the .10 cent paper from the Scrap Yard convention in October...sweet deal for that one!) and it cut out like butter on the Cricut. Didn't even wreck one...except trying to use the Scorepal...but I guess that is what you get for being a lefty in this world... folded the rest by hand. That went a lot quicker anyway. Each of the boxes ended up being about 1 inch by 1 inch cubes. I also thought these would go along good with the Shirley's 2 Girls challeng of "anything but a card with a Valentine's theme". You can play along with their Twisted Thursday challenge here: http://www.s2gpapercraftingcontest.blogspot.com/
Hope you liked them...I am sure the kids in the classes will...who doesn't like 59 cute little boxes of candy?

Project 365 #11 - Valentine's Card

I just thought that this dog called out for a Valentine type card, so here it is...not much more to it than that!...

Project 365 #8, #9, #10 - just some cards

Okay, so I used up the last of my boy birthday cards and decided that I needed a couple more for my stash. That did not end up happening though! Even though I used boy colours and accessories, that ribbon to me still makes these cards look girlie...so I guess I have a couple of girls cards added to my stash...Maybe I will have to do some boy cards today instead? Boy do I suck at boy cards...thank goodness for little girls, that's all I can say!!!

Paper Cutz Challenge #23

I am entering this page for the Paper Cutz challenge # 23 - the object is to use only red, green, black and white on the page. I think this one should qualify, as that is all that is there. You can find their challenge here: http://papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/01/paper-cutz-challenge-23.html if you want to play along. I love this picture of my girls. We were at the corn maze and it was freezing outside. They saw this rock and ran to get on top of it when we were getting ready to leave. I turned back to look at them and the were both "meditating", so I had to take a pic, of course. Thanks for looking. Deena

Project 365 - #7 -Tweedledees

I love these pictures of the girls. They were taken in downtown Disneyworld. We had the best day of our whole vacation there...no crowds and shopping galore. This is project #7...back on track...whoo hoo.

Project 365 #6 - Spaceship Earth at Epcot

So, this was Spaceship Earth at Epcot in Disneyworld. The girls loved this attraction. We became space captains controlling our ship on the way to Mars. It really felt like a rocket ship the way it shook and rattled. The girls thought it was awsome.
I contemplated how to count this one for my challenge...as one or as two. So I bit the bullet and went for one project for the two pages...after all, it is early in the year and that is what edit is for, isn't it?

Project 365 #5 - S2GSC38 Twisted Thursday Challenge

This is my challenge attempt for Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday Challenge. The stamp is from S2G and I think it is super cute. This is also #5 for project 365 and going strong. We have a few new people willing to take on this challenge...anyone else want to give it a go? You can find their challenge here: http://www.s2gpapercraftingcontest.blogspot.com/ if you are interested in participating.

Project 365 #4 - Mission Create mission 7

This is my attempt at Mission Create mission 7 - http://missiontocreate.blogspot.com/2009/12/mission-0007.html - not my best work - kind of rushed, but I have been putting off scrapbooking this picture since 2005 - so better late than never. Love this picture of Emily in pre-school. She was so proud with her little certificate. The mission for this one was to use maskin, grid or ledger paper, red, strip journaling and stamping. I think I covered most of the details with this one. Not sure if the picture shows that it is red and white grid paper in the background and blue and white ledger paper in the front, but it is...some day I will learn how to take better pictures of my pages.

Project 365 #3 -Mission Create - mission 6

So, my friend Nicole sent me a link to a blog that she designs on called Mission Create -http://www.missiontocreate.blogspot.com/ . She told me to check it out, and of course I had to. They do challenges that come in a series of 5 things - one from each of the design team. This challenge was for at least 3 label stickers, felt item, pink-yellow-teal colour scheme, polka dots and black pen outlining. I think I have them all...hopefully...I am trying desperately to get my Disneyworld scrapbook finished and this project should hopefully help with that.

Project 365 #2 - Emily's Acoustic Guitar

Okay, so I did a 12x12 page last night about the acoustic guitar that Emily wanted so badly for Christmas, but I can't post it yet. I decided to get brave and enter it in a contest??? We will have to wait to see it until after I get rejected from the call and then I can post it. But until then, I will keep my fingers crossed.

Project 365 - #1 - and even done on January 1st - so far, so good

This is the card I made for Lance and Cindy's wedding. It is a Chinese wedding and we are going this afternoon. It should be fun and it sounds like there will be lots of food! 10 courses according to the invitation. I hope she likes the card. The lanterns are the new oriental bundle from Cuttlebug. What an awesome bundle! Thanks to Lorie for the idea of embossing the photo paper. Love that idea and it looks so sharp on the cards. I also love that 7gypsies paper in the background. I had bought about 50 sheets of it and I am down to my last couple. I will be so sad when that is gone. It is just pretty and romantic and has so many subtle shades of red, cream, white and black in it.
I also entered this in the Daring Cardmakers Garnet Challenge - you can find them here:
Happy New Year to everyone...hope you stay safe, happy, healthy and creative this year!
