#42 - geometry rules

Deena

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use geometric patterns...I am totally addicted to using hexagons right now, but several design team members also had the same idea, so I switched it up a little...I thought I would go all geometry on you and use a bunch of parallelograms...yeah, that's right, I said it....geometry rules ;)  Come and play with us, won't you?

#41 - Forever grateful

This week's challenge with the Opus Gluei Poohbahs is things with wings - fairies, butterflies, birds etc...this is about as clean and simple as you could possibly get for a card - especially one from me, but with all my stuff packed away and time at a premium this is what you get...but I kind of like the way that it turned out....the orange is all sparkly looking in real life so it does have a bit of dimension....but my basement has cabinets ordered and the electricity is now complete...drywall goes up next week and then we are off to the races...hopefully mid-july will bring me back into the real crafting world instead of the stuff I jammed into a box of "what I might need over the next 3 months" - that stuff is never enough!  Play along, won't you?

#40 - Get well soon

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest stamps for a project - most of my stamps are still packed up and put out of reach while the basement is being finished (my cupboards are ordered and so is my countertop, so it won't be long now...maybe mid-July???)...seriously suffering from some withdrawl the last couple of weeks....this one happened to be in a different box by accident as it was missed while packing....bonus...otherwise I would have to cheat with all brand new stuff that I am not supposed to be buying ;) - play along with is, won't you?

#39 - talk nerdy to me

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is no designer papers at all...I came up with these little glasses from a die and some scraps from another project and I think they are just so much fun...borrowed the little gems from my friend Rose to touch up those cat's eye frames and add an air of glam to the card...join us, won't you?

#38 - Graduation

This week is our Second Anniversary at Shopping our Stash and our challenge for you is to make a graduation or anniversary card...I can't believe it has been two years already, but it has been a fun ride....I totally scraplifted this idea from a father's day card in paper crafts magazine...loved the idea of it, but added my own spin to it with the colouring etc...I love the look of the copics on the kraft paper, but the blending leaves something to be desired on this paper....come and have some fun with this one!

#37 - retirement card

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "Tool Shed" - use a tool that you have neglected or forgotten about...
my tool was the all time basic of all - a ruler....I never use a ruler for anything, yet I have several of them....I did the black outline on this image with one - and as you can see from the imperfections, there is a reason I don't use one very often!  Let's see what tools are hiding out in your shed.

#36 - Sawyer

This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to use black or a cat or both.  My project is a bit of a stretch to classify as "black" - however to welcome Chat Noir to our team, I did purchase (and use) a super fancy dancy sparkly and shiny piece of gorgeous black cardstock to make this scrapbook page....can't wait for the craft lounge to be finished so I can get back into my supply stock, but the end is near and the beginning is almost here (next week construction begins)...wahoozle!!!  Isn't my nephew a cutie??

#35 - happy mother's day

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "Scrap Attack" - use only scraps...this is my favorite kind of challenge...I love using scraps to create something fun!  It is the best way to get rid of some of those unloved pieces that are left lying around...play along with us this week, won't you?

#34 Happy Mother's day

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use at least 60% pink or do a mother's day card...I tried to combine the two (not quite 60% pink, but there is a lot)...we learned this cool technique at a crop this weekend and I had to give it a whirl...you use peel offs and stick them to the doublesided sook-wang tape...the sprinkle ultra fine cool tone glitter ritz on top and burnish it a bit until it is good and stuck and super sparkly...then you glam it up by dabbing it all over with the copic markers...be careful though...the glitter funks up the ends of you markers miserably and the ink eats through the glitter if you use too much...the lighter the touch the better (I opted to use the chiseled end of my copics because I don't generally colour with that side anyway)....love the look of this technique and I plan to use it again...going to try to use the kid's markers and see if it gives the same effect or if it has to be copic??

#33 - a bouquet for you

This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to use flowers on your project.  I found these Calla Lillies at my local Dollarama....I thought they would be just perfect for a sympathy card, so I whipped up a few of them...join us this week, won't you?

#32 - numbers everywhere

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use numbers on your project...it could be actual numbers, stamp, paper or any other combination as long as those digits are there....I am still not unpacked in the craft department (probably another 6 weeks or so), so this was a real scrounge around card...but here it is:

#31 - dollar store finds

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a project using some cool products you may have found in a bargin bin or at a dollar store...this project is all made with dollar store products...the base, the "washi" tape and the canvas sentiment...even the ribbon...what can you come up with this week?

#30 - A bicycle built for two

This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to do a project with bicycles...I came up with this card...not my best creation, but with the move and all, I really have no supplies to access (at least not until the basement is finished)....I will be getting, as my hubby puts it, "a craft lounge" in our basement that should be pretty swanky, but the construction won't be getting started for a couple more weeks and everything is "supposed" to stay packed up until he gets done...I have been secretly breaking into boxes and trying to grab bits and pieces to get some projects done, but everything is really limited...can't wait until everything is done the way it is supposed to be and all is put away in it's place!  Play along with us this week, won't you?

#29 - funky papers

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use the funkiest papers that you just had to have and have never used...this was a real challenge for me, not because of lack of paper, but because of lack of access to the bazillion sheets of paper that I do have...

this is the current state of my crafting area after we moved last week and I can't really unpack anything until my basement is done in the end of June or so....I had to buy - insert***gasp****here...a kit of the month from my local scrapbook store to complete my project, but the meshy paper under the flowers is about 8 years old...found that in a box on top of the pile...so back to basics it is...not much for embellies or anything, but it will have to do!  If I can manage to get a card out in these "conditions" I am sure you can muster up something to play along!

#27 - easter or spring

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a project with easter or spring in mind....I love this little bunny stamp and had to have it...just never used it...not sure why??  It turned out super cute in the polaroid stamp that I bought from Lawn Fawn....I like the way it turned out and all are scraps which is the best part!

#26 - spring tag

This weeks' challenge at Anything But A Card is to do a project to do with spring or easter...I am in the midst of moving this week...so busy....but hopefully this tag is springy enough to qualify for the challenge....play along this week, won't you?

#25 - oh balls!

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use a snarky or funny sentiment...I love these bugaboo stamps and they have the funniest sentiments going - I used all scraps for this card and am trying to continue with that trend for as long as I can!

#28 - spring has sprung

This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is spring...it was my turn to set the challenge and in that time, we decided to buy a house with our spring fever...we have been packing everything up and I thought this little stamp was the perfect way to use up some of the scraps on my desk....hope you come out and play this week too!

#24 - getting punchy

This weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash is "getting punchy" - using border punches...I used the same scallop punch multiple times on this card and inked it up a little to give it some texture...all of the pieces are scrap...

#23 - little leprechaun

This week's challenge at Anything But A Card is to do St. Patty's day projects...I made some of these cute little magnets last year and they were such a hit, I whipped up a few more for this year too...they brighten up a dull workspace well!
