#40 jeepers creepers

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a spectacle of yourself and use eyewear on your project...I had these little brown eyeglasses just sitting around from a clearance sale since early last year and they were just calling out for this challenge...colored them with copics and stamped the wood grain on the centre, a little bling and voila!  The paper with the glasses on it was a scrap in the pile, so that worked out to be a total bonus too!  Play along with us will you?  We are off to a cabin at Lake of the Woods to soak up some rays this week (the weather is supposed to be fabulous!).

#37 - don't get stressed - get destressed

 

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "don't get stressed, get destressed" - use a scene or items that you find relaxing - I chose the clouds and sunshine, because in my mind sitting outside staring into the sky doing nothing is the most relaxing thing around...and if you happen to spot a hot air balloon, the world is perfect.  Play along with us, won't you?

#35 - gingham style

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do your project gingham style...using checkers or squares in your project...I did two cards from the same pattern just to change it up a bit...they are simple, but fun and I need two "kid" birthday cards in the next couple of weeks, so they should work out just fine...Play along with us, will you?

#34 - buttons baubles and or bows

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use buttons, baubles or bows on your project.  I chose buttonss as they are always fun to use...these ones have been hanging around my craft room since Zellers went out of business...that is even before Target went out of business, so it has been a while...they even had adhesive on the back so they were ready to use up.  Let's see what you made this week too.

#33 - for the boys

this week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to make a project "for the boys" - father's day being this weekend, I had no problem coming up with 5 boy cards (each of us having one dad and one step dad - plus one for hubby from the girls) - all the same style with 3-d cutouts.  Play along with us, will you?

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use trees or foliage in your project...I have been experimenting with watercolours lately and did this one with Tim Holtz inks....I love this tree die and use it quite often, however it is the first time my happy birthday has touched paper, so bonus for that...play along with us, will you?

#31 - critters

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use critters of any type on your project....I chose to use these super dogs and cats because they are just too cute to resist!  Play along with us, will you?

#30 - red red wine

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is called "Red red wine" - using either the colour red, wine images or both...I needed a thank you card for one of the girls' dance teachers who is a great fan of wine....thought she might like this image...play along will you?

#29 - get misty

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your mists....this card has many kinds on in, however they are hard to distinguish from the regular paper....these papers started out white and I used yellow red and green to get the gradients and the solid yellow...it is also misted with a pearl to shine it up a bit...the trees were misted on to my stamps as well as the deer...makes for some versatile products...play along with us, will you?

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use silver and gold on your project together.  I am helping my mom do a scrapbook for her best friend's 25th wedding anniversary, so I decided this page would be a great silver and gold page to work with...play along with us, will you?

#27 -feather thanks

This weeks challenge at shopping our stash is to use washi tape on your project. Preferably your oldest. This pink stuff was the first that I had purchased before I really even knew what it was for.  I love making feathers out of washi tape...just fold the tape in half over top of some wire and trim...easy peasy and it gives a cool look...this card is made out of all left overs from my desk and some old Rubons that barely work anymore. This is the 200th challenge at Shopping our Stash and we are challenging you to use something big, bold or beautiful on you project this week...it can be a big flower, bold colours or something you find very beautiful...I went for big with the doily, bold for the colours and beautiful for bling and other things...play along with us, will you?

#25 - sweet girl

This week's challenge over at the Opus Gluei is to use feathers in your project however you like...I chose to die cut mine out of this fun pink paper and add to a card made of scraps....flock together with us in this feathery fun, won't you?

#24 - opposite day

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do a project that is opposite of a style that you would normally do....I don't really have a specific style, but most of my cards generally have some sort of stamping on them and I usually have clean finished edges etc on my projects...I tried changing this one up by distressing all of the paper and using rub ons and stickers instead of stamping on the front of my card...play along with us, will you?

#23 - Texture me

 

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest embossing items to make a project...this can be dry embossing or heat embossing.  I used both with some rainbow glitter embossing powder and a fun checkerboard embossing folder...play along with us, won't you?

#22 - Then and now

This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is a then and now challenge....take a project from a long time ago and use it for inspiration to make something new or update the old project.  As I was going through my blog looking at old projects, I came across these cards that I made for my friends.  The retro lady on the card front inspired me to pull out a retro stamp and get to work.  This is what I ended up with....thanks for looking!

#21 - mother's day cards with twine birds and flowers

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is "Lost and Found" - we are to use something that we have forgotten about or just don't really use too often any more - I chose to use some stickles that have been in hiding for a couple of years and some charms.  All of these items (including the paper and twine have been around for quite a while in my house)....play along will you?
